Through the magic forest

20 million years ago, when mammals began to dominate the earth, a dense humid forest covered the entire Mediterranean region and parts of North Africa. Numerous dry periods and ice ages, however, urged the ecosystem back gradually until it finally existed only on the archipelagos of Macaronesia (Canary Islands, Madeira, Cape Verde and the Azores) . We walk through the ecosystem from the Tertiary Age, and find constant references to the indigenous people who lived until 1492 in a social and emancipatory society still in the Stone Age. Our path leads past old farmhouses and giant snake heads through the cathedral-like laurel forest and soon go our separate groups. In the light of which relates to the magical forest up to the visitor center and a cultural park. Then we go by car to El Tablado to common meal.
For experienced hikers, we offer an alternative:
Through the magic forest down to Don Pedro along historical religious sites and sources. We enjoy the spectacular views over the green northern coast and hike about the old royal road 350m down by the impressive valley, the Barranco Fagundo. After a 300m climb we reach the little village of El Tablado, which is inhabited only by about 40 people. Above the village, we expect the other participants in the panorama bar "El Moral" for the common meal.
