Volcano route
This hike over the Cumbre Vieja is very fine, but it'a also exhausting.
We start up at the Refugio El Pilar a place of regeneration in a pine forest.
We walk through ever changing landscapes to the highest point, the crater Hoyo Negro at 1949m altitude.
The path leads us to the volcano Martin and down to Fuencaliente.
The Cumbre Vieja consists of more than 120 volcanos. It shows us the volcanic history of the island.
We can see the neighbouring islands El Hiero, La Gomera and Tenerife by good weather.
